keepin' the faith

spent the last night in perth with a bunch of dancing 50 somethings at the monthly norther soul night where i met up with boyne for a few beers and a chat!!
i didnt really know who to look out for as i cant remember meeting him ever (i did in 2001 so he later informed me). had a good chat with him and with a few others that were there it turned out they were all poms, and quite a few midlanders too. got chattin to an english girl and an american guy who were more in my age bracket, and so after a few more beers we went into the city to see one of their mates'bands which was a good night.

sunday we had all day to kill as we had to check out at 10am, and weren't flying 'till 12.50 am. decided to go and see batman to kill a few hours, which was a good choice. it was very good indeed, and well worth all the good write ups it has had. after that we took a ride round the city on the free bus, had some fun with some kangaroo's (photo's to follow!) and then hit the airport. spent 5 hours killing time on my ipod and laptop before boarding the most uncomfortabel flight ever...there was more leg room than usual, but the little flap things that fold out of the head rest for you to lean on and use as a makeshift pillow were rubbish, everytime you lent on them they collapsed, and when you sleep theres always some rockin of the head to either side, so every 5 mins i was awake, neck ache and all. got to sydney then went straight to our hostel to catch some a horizontal Z's!

had been there no more than a few hours and i had a call for a job from an agency. they were pretty vague on the phone but it was to start the next day (tues) and was at a brewerey doing data enrty.

so have been there today and yesterday, my 1st days in on of the greatest capital cities in the world and ive been staring at a computer screen searching for wines and discount codes!!! its an easy job, requires little thought and pays well so it will definately do the job. the project im on is only till firday but today they said there may be more hours (i obviously made a good impression as she said they were impressed with my quick learning and speedy typing which is nice).

other inportant things you should know:
the fire at weston supermare (im pretty sure thats where it was?) made it on ausie news the other night!!!!
they dont have burger kings here, they're called hungry jacks, and they have thin fries not the chunky ones we have at home.
they show alot of gordon ramsey on tv here (not a complaint, i f'ín love the guy).

all for now from down under xx
