i heart the french

1st things 1st...Happy Birthday Sam..hope you have a good day champ. Many Happy Returns...You can join me in town friday nights when i get back.

Had a trial at a restaurant yesterday. After going in to see the manager who was a pomm, he was from Nottingham and was really soundso we went with high hopes and a prosporous mindset. The C restaurant, a 33rd floor rotatng restaurant in the city centre with panoramic city views. Started at 6 and we walked out at 8.30.

The staff were all ignorant, rude, arrogant French, bar none. We saw the guy we were told too who took us up to get uniform, then we just stood on the floor, nobody spoke to us, smiled or said hello, evebody just walked past and was looking at us, and caus ethey were all French they were all speaking to each other in French. They asked us to do stuff (set table, get glasses etc.) but just expected us to know where to get them from and how to lay them out, nobody bothered to show us. Then they asked if we could clear plates properly (like take 3 plates+ at a time). Neither of us can so instead of showing us how to do it they just said we'd be running drinks out. All through the night (2.5 hours of it) nobody spoke, if you asked them a question they'd just point to where you had to go or what you had to do....many a time i was cursing under my breath at the little f@#&#s! So we decided to leave...not as simple as just walking out tho, as the lift up to the top floor opens us straight into the restaurant so we had to stealthily call the lift and time our enterance and decent so that nobody clocked us!! Horrible horrible people. I think the C in C-Restaurant stands for CRAP.

As that big rude french door slammed shut, another opened as we had a missed call off a hotel just out of the city. The guy left a voicemail saying they had positions in the bar, restaurnat, kitchen and on front desk and they were keen to get us in. By time Id listened to the message and rang back he'd left, but the friendly receptionist said she'd get him to call today (Sunday). Haven't heard as yet tho so hopefully he's not in till tonight and will be calling shortly.

We spent the rest of the night playing snooker (I lost!)
