“.......Well I can’t really dance, but baby will you dance with me”

As Bob Dylan once sang ‘the times they are a changing’’...those fitting words spring to mind as we have a new plan now after getting a job at a hotel down South. Its 4 hours South of Perth near a place called Margaret River which is a big wine region so we’ll have to leave Perth to go there. It’s a 5-star resort and the job is working on the bar and in the restaurant. We got it through an agency and are heading there at the weekend to start work Monday. It’s not live-in but they have accommodation at a hostel close by which is only $105 a week (It’d be about $175+) here in the city. Its 30 hour a week but the chap at the agency said there’s likely to be more which is good. Decided to go there as it looks real nice (check out the resort here) and it’ll be the best way to save up money. It definitely looks a fair bit nicer than the walkabout. I think it’s in a pretty remote area so there’ll be less lure of backpacker bars to lead us astray and to reduce our savings! Once we’ve worked there we’re going to come back to Perth for a few days for a few more nights out and to do all the touristy things here before heading round to Melbourne.

We had an interview yesterday at a restaurant out of town which sounded good in terms of the pay and actual job but a job requirement was for us to ‘amend our appearance’ as the guy put it and have a shave and slick back our hair...I think he was thinking Danny Zuko style hair doo’s (seriously)...He was also one of the blunter tools in the toolbox ‘”We have 16 tables here, so if you both work, that’s 7 each”...?!! And we would have to wear a dickie bow!!

Another guy tried to get us to sign up to work promoting Greenpeace. He stopped us in the street and asked if we were looking for work (it must have looked obvious that we were) then said they have jobs available where you talk to people about the charity and then try and get people to sign up (One of those people you see in the street and then get your phone out and have a fake convo so that they don’t speak to you!) ....No thanks!

Have added the rest of my photo’s so all is up to date again now :)
